Financial Support for Women in Business Who Mean It
about Us
THE VISION
Generational Change. Fuelled by Women. Powered by Ownership.
At F5 Collective, generational change for women is our North Star.
We believe real impact comes from economic empowerment and ownership - putting capital into the hands of women and building the infrastructure that helps them scale and succeed.
This is long-term work. Our thinking is in decades and generations.
THE STORY
F5 Collective began with a simple ambition: close the funding gap for women founders.
We started as a venture fund. But as we deployed capital, it became clear the issue wasn’t just access, it was the structure of the system itself.
Most women-owned businesses do not fit the model venture capital was built for.
So we evolved.
Alongside our contribution to policy reform, including California Senate Bill SB54, we refined our approach and rebuilt from the ground up.
F5 Collective transitioned into a credit platform focused on supporting women-owned SMEs.
Today, we are building a capital system designed for the way women build and grow businesses.
THE PROBLEM
The financial system was not designed for women-owned businesses.
Between microfinance and venture capital sits the Missing Middle; established, revenue-generating businesses with real demand, but limited access to capital.
Too advanced for small to medium funding.
Not suited to venture capital.
The result is a funding gap that slows growth and forces unnecessary compromise.
F5 Collective was built to close that gap..
THE DISCOVERY
97% of women-owned businesses are built in services, health, consumer and professional sectors.
These are real, revenue-generating businesses. They employ people, serve customers and contribute meaningfully to the economy.
But they do not fit traditional funding models.
What became clear is that access to capital is only part of the problem.
Growth is also shaped by access to customers, distribution and opportunity.
Supporting these businesses requires more than funding.
It requires a system where capital and commerce work together.
