Change Requires More Than One Organisation. It Requires Policy That Shifts Systems.
Systems Change
Landmark Diversity Legislation Passed in the California Senate.
From the beginning, F5 Collective has believed that commercial action and structural advocacy must work together if we are serious about closing the funding gap for women in business.
That belief led us to co-author and pass California Senate Bill SB 54, landmark legislation requiring venture capital firms in the world's largest venture capital market to publicly report the diversity of the founders they fund. For the first time, the industry is being held to account with transparent data rather than assumptions. What gets measured gets managed.
SB 54 has since set an important precedent for other jurisdictions exploring how transparency can accelerate a more inclusive capital market. F5 Collective was formally acknowledged on the floor of the California State Senate for its contribution to this work.
